Individuals with chronic temporomandibular disorder (TMD) pain are at increased risk for alcohol-related consequences compared to those without pain, and growing evidence suggests pain is a potent motivator for alcohol use in many individuals. However, few systematic examinations of modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors, including orofacial pain status, have been conducted. This project addresses this gap in knowledge by determining the effect of pain on drinking topography in heavy drinkers with and without chronic TMD pain in both the laboratory and daily life.

A procedure frequently performed by orthopaedic providers is the administration of corticosteroid injections for the management of various soft tissues and joint-related conditions, such as osteoarthritis, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and de Quervain's tenosynovitis. While these injections have demonstrated effectiveness in alleviating symptoms, the discomfort associated with the procedure can be a source of anxiety and apprehension for patients. This discomfort arises from the sensation of the needle entering the affected area and the burning sensation induced by the corticosteroid solution.

The research study is being conducted to better understand memory function in people with opioid use disorder (OUD) and whether memory training can improve the symptoms and lives of people with OUD. Further, this study seeks to identify how brain and heart activity contribute to memory function and OUD symptoms. Participants will be asked to complete a baseline assessment, four weeks of at-home memory training (MemFlex), and a post-treatment follow-up assessment. Everyone enrolled will receive MemFlex as there is no placebo group. Each visit will include collection of a urine sample for drug testing. During the baseline and follow-up assessments, researchers will collect brain information using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and heartbeat data using a wearable wristband sensor. MemFlex is a cognitive-behavioral intervention that does not pose any risk. However, the use of MemFlex in this study is experimental as it has not been tested in individuals with OUD. We will enroll 20 participants with OUD and 10 participants meeting healthy volunteer criteria.

This study is open to adults who are at least 18 years old and have: - A confirmed liver disease called non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) or - A confirmed liver disease called metabolic-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) - BMI of 27 kg/m2 or more or - 25 kg/m2 or more if the participant is Asian. People with a history of other chronic liver diseases or high alcohol intake cannot take part in this study. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called survodutide helps people with NASH or MASH improve their liver function. Participants are put into 2 groups randomly, which means by chance. 1 group gets survodutide and 1 group gets placebo. Placebo looks like survodutide but does not contain any medicine. Each participant has twice the chance of getting survodutide. Participants and doctors do not know who is in which group. Participants inject survodutide or placebo under their skin once a week. All participants regularly receive counselling to make changes to their diet and to exercise regularly. Participants are in the study for up to 4 and a half years. During this time, they visit the study site or have a remote visit by video call every 2, 4 or 6 weeks for about a 1 year and 5 months. After this time participants visit the trial site or have a remote visit every 3 months until the end of the study. The doctors check participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects. The participants' body weight is regularly measured. At some visits the liver parameters are measured using different imaging methods. The participants also fill in questionnaires about their symptoms. The results are compared between the groups to see whether the treatment works.

This phase III trial compares standard therapy given after surgery (adjuvant) to standard therapy given before and after surgery (perioperative) in treating patients with stage II-IIIB non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that can be removed by surgery (resectable). The usual approach for patients with resectable NSCLC is chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy before surgery, after surgery, or both before and after surgery. This study is being done to find out which approach is better at treating patients with lung cancer. Treatment will be administered according to the current standard of care at the time of enrollment. Chemotherapy options may include cisplatin, carboplatin, pemetrexed, gemcitabine, docetaxel, and vinorelbine at standard doses according to the treating physician. Cisplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of tumor cells. Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works in a way similar to the anticancer drug cisplatin, but may be better tolerated than cisplatin. Carboplatin works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of tumor cells. Pemetrexed is in a class of medications called antifolate antineoplastic agents. It works by stopping cells from using folic acid to make deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and may kill tumor cells. Gemcitabine is a chemotherapy drug that blocks the cells from making DNA and may kill tumor cells. Docetaxel is in a class of medications called taxanes. It stops tumor cells from growing and dividing and may kill them. Other chemotherapy drugs, such as vinorelbine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading . Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, pembrolizumab, and atezolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the tumor, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Starting treatment with chemotherapy and immunotherapy prior to surgery and continuing treatment after surgery may be a more effective treatment option than adjuvant therapy alone in patients with stage II-IIIB resectable NSCLC.

A migraine is a headache with severe throbbing pain or a pulsating sensation, usually on one side of the head. It is often accompanied by feeling or being sick and a sensitivity to bright lights and sound. Migraines are caused by a series of events when the brain gets stimulated or activated, which causes the release of chemicals that cause pain. IPN10200 is a medication that stops the release of these chemical messengers. Participants with episodic migraine (EM) or chronic migraine (CM) will be included in both Step 1 and Step 2. "Headache days" are when participants experience headaches that meet the criteria for a migraine or a headache without the additional migraine-specific symptoms. "Migraine days" occur when the headache displays clear migraine characteristics. This study aims to determine: - The safety and efficacy of injecting IPN10200 directly into the muscles of the head and neck to prevent EM and CM, - The right amount (dose) of IPN10200 to inject at each point, - The total amount (dose) of IPN10200 that provides the best balance between safety and efficacy preventing migraines. Participants will need to complete a daily electronic migraine Diary (eDiary) and questionnaires throughout the study. The total study duration for a participant will be up to 44 weeks.

The purpose of this study is to learn about the effect of a study medicine called rimegepant in adolescents who have frequent migraine attacks. Rimegepant is a tablet that dissolves when you put it on or under your tongue. The study will enroll participants who have headache for 15 days (or more) every month, of which 8 days (or more) of migraine every month, and each untreated attack lasts for an average of 4-72 hours In the 1st part of the study approximately half of the participants will receive a rimegepant tablet every other day, and approximately half of the participants will receive an inactive oral tablet (that looks the same as the rimegepant tablet) every other day. Participant experiences when they are taking the study medicine will be compared to when they are taking the inactive tablet. This will help to determine if the study medicine is safe and effective. The 1st phase of the study will last 3 months. In the 2nd part of the study all the participants who stay on study will receive rimegepant tablet every other day. This 2nd phase of the study will last 1 year. This will help determine if the study medicine is safe when taken for a long period. Those who will participate in both phases will have up to 19 visits at the study clinic, about one every 4 weeks (this may vary from 2 to 8 weeks interval during the study). Home health visits may occur as well. A health check and blood sample will be conducted at all visits. Participants will have to complete a daily diary to record the migraine attacks.
